Sent To Sukamiskin Prison, Anies' Ex-Men Will Serve More Than 6 Years In Prison
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has sent former President Director of Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya, Yoory Corneles Pinontoan, to the Class IA Sukamiskin Correctional Institution, Bandung.
Yoory will serve his sentence after being proven guilty of corruption in land acquisition for the 'DP 0 Rupiah Residential' project in Munjul, East Jakarta which cost the state Rp152.565 billion. Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said the execution was carried out on Tuesday, March 22.
"The convict will serve 6 years and 6 months in prison at the Class IA Sukamiskin Prison, minus the previous period of detention," Ali told reporters in a written statement, Wednesday, March 23.
This execution was carried out by the Executing Prosecutor of the KPK, Josep Wisnu Sigit, based on the Corruption Court Decision at the Central Jakarta District Court Number: 72/Pid.Sus-TPK/2021/PN.Jkt.Pst dated February 24, 2022. This verdict has permanent legal force.
Furthermore, the KPK will collect the obligation to pay a criminal fine of Rp. 500 million. Ali said that if Yoory did not make the payment, it would be replaced with imprisonment.
"There is an obligation to pay a criminal fine of Rp. 500 million with the condition that if it is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 6 months," he said.
As previously reported, the Jakarta Corruption Court has sentenced Yoory Corneles to 6.5 years in prison plus a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.
"The defendant is sentenced to imprisonment for 6 years and 6 months and a fine of Rp. 500 million, which if not paid will be replaced with imprisonment for 6 months," said Chief Justice Saifuddin Zuhri at the Jakarta Corruption Crime Court (Tipikor), as reported by Antara, Thursday, February 24.
The verdict is lower than the demands of the KPK Public Prosecutor (JPU) who requested that Yorry be sentenced to 6 years and 8 months in prison plus a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to 6 months in prison. Article 18 No. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes Jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code Jo. Article 64 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
