Anies Baswedan's Advice To His Men: Please Save Rainwater
JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Water Resources Agency, Yusmada Faizal, admitted that he received a message from the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan. Anies advised his staff to control rainwater, especially during the rainy season.
As is well known, the high intensity of rain in the capital city often results in overflow of water from rivers, rivers and drainage channels.
Therefore, Anies asked his subordinates to increase the capacity of the rainwater in order to utilize the water and prevent flooding.
This was conveyed by Yusmada in the commemoration of the 2022 World Water Day at Lake Ring, Papanggo village, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
"The most effective way to take advantage of rainwater is to collect it from the start, so that it doesn't flow and fill the channel, causing inundation to the river and causing the river to overflow. That's why the Governor always intensifies 'please save the rainwater'," said Yusmada. , Tuesday, March 22.
In the future, continued Yusmada, Anies will issue a governor's regulation (pergub) regarding rainwater management.
"Therefore, there will be a governor's regulation on rainwater management that will be issued in the context of saving God's blessing in the form of rainwater so that it will benefit the lives of all. That is what we must encourage," said Yusmada.
On that occasion, Yusmada revealed that the DKI Provincial Government has a program to accommodate and maintain rainwater, namely Project 942. In this project, the DKI Provincial Government will complete the construction of 9 polders, the construction of 4 reservoirs, and the revitalization of 2 rivers.
"The excess water is secured as much as possible. Hopefully this year we will get 9 polders, 4 new reservoirs in the upstream area, and revitalize 2 rivers. The essence is to maintain and protect rainwater," he added.
