Nine NTT Fishermen Reported Missing In The Waters Of Pasir Island
KUPANG - Nine fishermen from Rote Island, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), were reported missing after their boat capsized in the waters of Pulau Pasir, Timor Sea.
Kupang Search and Rescue Office head Emy Freezer said Australian patrol officers found the Seahorse fishing boat capsized in the waters.
"Based on reports that there were 12 crew members on the fishing boat, nine people are missing and have not been found," he said in Kupang, Monday, March 21.
According to Antara, the three crew members of the fishing boat have been found safe and are currently undergoing treatment in Australia.
Freezer said that among the nine crew members missing was Yohanis Balu, the captain of the fishing boat.
The Kupang Search and Rescue Office is coordinating the search for the crew of a fishing boat that went missing in the waters off Pulau Pasir, which is about 320 km off the north-west coast of Australia and 170 km south of Rote Island.
