Roy Suryo Confirms Megawati's Video Satirized Women As Real
JAKARTA - Chairperson of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri satirized women by responding to the scarcity and soaring price of cooking oil in a video.
Megawati asked mothers not only to fry but also to have other alternatives in cooking, namely boiling. This statement also made netizens excited.
Telematics expert Roy Suryo confirmed the authenticity of the video. Roy Suryo also confirmed that the video was genuine.
"This video is 100% true," said Roy Suryo through his personal Twitter account @KRMTRoySuryo2 on Friday, March 18.
"Again, I have to explain, it's cut ok, as long as it's in front/back, not "in-between-cut", inserted/dubbed. This video is originally 1 hour 45 minutes, the statement is in the 5th to 40th minute during the Webinar "Prevent Stunting for Indonesia's Golden Gene" Thursday (17/3/22), he said.
Previously, Megawati's video became trending after she highlighted the mothers who lined up for cooking oil.

"It's not a question of how expensive it is to buy cooking oil. It made me think, so do women just fry every day? How much do they fight?" said Megawati in a webinar, Friday, March 18.
"Until now, we've seen the excitement about buying cooking oil. It is unbelievable," she said.
In the video, Megawati invites women in Indonesia to process and cook food in other ways besides frying which does not use much cooking oil.
"Is there no way to boil or steam or like rujak?" she said.
According to her, processing boiled food is healthier and is a characteristic of Indonesian people in cooking.
"That's an Indonesian menu, you know. Why is it so complicated," said the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia.
After the statement, Mrs. Mega's opinion and the fry suddenly became the subject of discussion on Twitter social media. In fact, both of them had become trending on Twitter social media.
