Anies Appoints Sudirman Said As President Commissioner Of Transjakarta

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan appointed Sudirman Said as President Commissioner of PT Transport Jakarta (Transjakarta). Sudirman Said replaces Jaswandi who has served as Komut Transjakarta since August 2019.

Said's appointment as Komut Transjakarta was recently decided based on the results of the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders (RUPS LB) held at DKI Jakarta City Hall.

Acting Head of the Corporate Secretary and Public Relations Division of PT Transjakarta, Angelina Betris said that her party believes that Sudirman Said can bring change for Transjakarta for the better.

“We believe that Mr. Sudirman Said will bring about bigger changes and will make Transjakarta even better. Welcome, and good luck on your duty," Betris said in a statement, Friday, March 18.

In addition to changing the position of Komut, Commissioner of PT Transjakarta Beni Edmundar also resigned from his position. Beni Edmundar has served as Commissioner of Transjakarta since last August 2019.

"Mr. Jaswandi and Mr. Beni are great figures behind the development of Transjakarta. We, as Transjakarta personnel, express our gratitude to him who has contributed to bringing many changes, not only for services but also for the company," said Betris.

As is well known, Sudirman Said was the Minister of Mineral and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia in the 2014-2016 Working Cabinet, the same period as Anies Baswedan when he served as Minister of Education and Culture.

In July 2017, President Jokowi removed Sudirman Said to replace him with Arcandra Taher.

Then, Sudirman Said has also been the head of the Anies-Sandiaga synchronization team since the two of them started serving as Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI in 2017.
