Ahead Of The Mandalika Race, Marquez And Espargaro Predict El Clasico

JAKARTA – Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaro gave predictions for the El Clasico match between Real Madrid and Barcelona in the midst of their preparations for racing at the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP.

Madrid will host Barcelona in the 29th week of La Liga 2021/2022 at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Monday, March 21 in the morning. Marquez and Espargaro also gave predictions during the press conference in Mandalika.

Espargaro looked to Barcelona as the winner for the classic match. He wrote the score 2-0 for the Blaugrana's advantage, but did not deny that it was difficult to correctly predict the result of this match.

"It will be difficult to predict. But because you know Real Madrid. They are at a very good level now after eliminating Paris Saint-Germain from the European Champions League," said Pol Espargaro in the MotoGP Instagram post.

Meanwhile, Marquez, who is a Barcelona supporter, estimates that the two teams will share points in this match. The six-time world champion predicts a 1-1 draw will end the match.

"I always bet for Barcelona. But I have to be realistic too. And a 1-1 draw is definitely not the result (Barcelona) in La Liga because they are behind Madrid, but this result is good for the Clasico," said Marquez.

Madrid currently holds the La Liga standings with a collection of 66 points from 28 matches. The number of numbers makes Los Blancos still ten points ahead of Sevilla who is stalking in second position.

Meanwhile, Barcelona overtook the two teams above in third place. The Blaugrana are still 15 points behind Los Blancos.

For this reason, this match is an opportunity for Barcelona to cut the distance between the numbers. In addition, as a revenge mission after they swallowed a narrow 2-1 defeat at home to Madrid at Camp Nou in October last year.
