Sukabumi Policewomen Entertain Children Of Tornado Victims In Sukabumi

SUKABUMI - The Sukabumi Policewoman comforted children who were victims of the tornado in Sinagarkolot Village, Sukabumi Regency, West Java to help ease the trauma.

"Trauma healing for children who have survived the hurricane disaster aims to entertain them so they don't dissolve in prolonged trauma, especially the impact of the disaster that occurred in Nagrakutara Village, Nagrak Sub-district caused some of them to lose their homes due to heavy damage," said the Head of the Women's and Women's Protection Unit. Child (PPA) of Sukabumi Police Iptu Bayu Sunarti in Sukabumi, Antara, Thursday, March 10.

According to Bayu, there were dozens of children who survived the tornado. Some of them have to live in refugee camps so they feel sad. Therefore, the Sukabumi Police deployed policewomen to entertain him and provide toys.

The trauma healing carried out by his party is considered effective enough to at least restore their joy and is expected to slowly forget the events that have just happened.

In addition, this way is to prevent children who survived the tornado from experiencing prolonged trauma so that it can have an impact on their health.

"Hopefully, this effort that we are doing can eliminate the fear of children who survived the disaster and can forget a little about what has happened to their families," he added.

Bayu said that excessive fear can have a negative impact on children's psychology, therefore by easing the traumatized emotions and understanding the meaning behind the trauma, they can restore their self-confidence.

In this activity, the policewomen also gave an illustration that what they had experienced was a disaster. Of course, the delivery is adjusted to their age so that it is easy to understand.

Hopefully this disaster can be a lesson for all to stay alert in weather conditions like now, because disasters can come anytime and anywhere.
