Jokowi Inaugurates Andi Sudirman Sulaiman As Governor Of South Sulawesi, Replaces Nurdin Abdullah Who Is Entangled In Corruption

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo officially inaugurated Andi Sudirman Sulaiman as Governor of South Sulawesi at the State Palace today.

In the presence of Jokowi and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, Andi took the oath of office to become regional head for a period of 2018-2023. The reading of the oath was guided by Jokowi.

"By Allah, I swear that I will fulfill my obligations as governor, as deputy governor, to the best of my ability and in the fairest way possible, uphold the 1945 Constitution and carry out all laws and regulations in the right way, and serve the community, homeland, and the nation," Andi said during the oath of office, Thursday, March 10.

After taking the oath, the national anthem Indonesia Raya was played. After that, Jokowi and Ma'ruf Amin left the room.

Furthermore, Jokowi inaugurated Bambang Susantono and Dhony Rahajoe as Head and Deputy Head of the National Capital Authority Agency (IKN) of the Archipelago.

For information, Andi was inaugurated as Governor of South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi) replacing Nurdin Abdullah who was caught in a corruption case. Nurdin was sentenced to 5 years in prison for bribery and gratuities.

Andi was previously the Deputy Governor of South Sulawesi and served as Plt. Governor of South Sulawesi when Nurdin was caught in a corruption case. Meanwhile, the current position of Deputy Governor of South Sulawesi is still vacant.

In the near future, the leadership of the South Sulawesi DPRD will write to the political party that carries Nurdin Abdullah-Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, regarding the process for the position of deputy governor.
