Embracing Islam Since Last Week, Clarence Seedorf Shares An Old Video That Touches The Problem Of Hijab And Ikamah

JAKARTA - AC Milan legend, Clarence Seedorf announced his decision to convert to Islam on Friday, March 4. Officially becoming a Muslim, he is increasingly showing his interest in Islam.

One of them can be seen from the upload on his Instagram Story today. Seedorf shared an old video that went viral for showing a touching moment in the middle of a women's soccer match.

In the video shared by Seedorf, it can be seen several players rushing towards one of the opposing players whose headscarves came off after dribbling. They pause the game and cover the player with their body until the player fixes his hijab.

The moment seemed to stir Seedorf's heart, who had just studied Islam. It can be seen from the writing embedded by this former Cameroon national team player in the upload.

“Bigger than sport,” Seedorf wrote.

Moreover, in the video there is also a moment where the players stop competing to coincide with the ikamah (call that is echoed after the call to prayer). That moment seems to make Seedorf even more interested in Islam.

It is known, the video is a women's match in Jordan. The moment happened around 2019. Watch a longer version of the video uploaded on ABC Television Stations YouTube channel.
