Bandung City Government Still Thinking About Opening Permits For Spectators To Come To Sports Events

JAKARTA - Although various concessions have been opened, the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) is still careful in granting permits for sporting events that can be attended by spectators.

The Acting Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana in Bandung, West Java, said that so far the relaxation given to the sports sector has only been limited to match activities or sports events, not to the audience.

"In the meantime, if the match is without spectators, we can still give it," Yana said, Wednesday, March 9, quoted from Antara.

According to him, the relaxation of sports matches that can be attended by spectators is still under evaluation by the Bandung City COVID-19 Handling Task Force.

Because, he said, community screening still needed to be implemented due to the large number of COVID-19 cases in Bandung.

"We are slowly, whether we will pass PeduliLindungi, which is really used, so that the incoming vaccine is complete, to minimize it," said Yana.

The rules regarding sports competitions that can be attended by spectators are contained in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 15 of 2022 concerning the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) Level 4, Level 3, and Level 2 Corona Virus Disease 2019 in the Java and Bali Regions.

In Article 8 of the Ministry of Home Affairs, it is stated that all sports competitions are allowed to be watched by the public provided that the number is according to the status of the level of COVID-19 cases.

For district or city level three, the stadium or arena can be filled with spectators of 50 percent of the maximum capacity, 75 percent for level two, and 100 percent for level one. Another requirement is that all spectators must have received a booster vaccine.

So far, in the city of Bandung, there are still 9.435 active cases of COVID-19. However, this figure continued to decline compared to the previous three days as many as 10.652 people.
