Calls The Support Of The Fans An Advantage For Real Madrid, Ancelotti: I Know Very Well What The Bernabeu Is Like
JAKARTA - Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said support from supporters would be an advantage for his team when they host Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the second leg of the Champions League last 16 at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Madrid, Tuesday night local time.
Quoted from the club's official website, Ancelotti said the Real Madrid squad was motivated to show their best when competing in front of the Bernebeu public.
"I know very well what the Bernabeu is like and we are even more motivated. We know very well we are not alone in this match because the whole Madridismo is behind us, leading us forward and making us even stronger," said Ancelotti.
The Italian coach explained that he is currently preparing the team to host PSG and reiterated that all players are motivated, which is something important from a coach's point of view.
In addition, he also asked his team not to be nervous because of the atmosphere at the Santiago Bernabeu because the players should have gotten used to the situation.
Real Madrid looked to the match against PSG by securing a 4-1 victory over Real Sociedad in Week 27 of the Spanish League, Sunday evening local time and this is expected to be a motivation for the match against Les Parisiens.
"We are preparing for the game now. Everyone is motivated and it is clear from the coach's point of view that it is important to be aware of the atmosphere to make sure you are not too nervous," said Ancelotti.
"These players are used to this kind of game. We have come out of the Real Sociedad game feeling much stronger. Everything is going well and we are very excited, excited and motivated."
In the second leg, Real Madrid need to win the match by at least two goals difference over PSG to immediately ensure themselves qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals.
In the first leg, Real Madrid had to be willing to concede in extra time in the second half by PSG through a goal scored by Kylian Mbappe and changed the score to 1-0 which lasted until the match was over.
