Japfa Comfeed, Livestock Company Owned By Conglomerate Handojo Santosa Raise Sales Of IDR 44.87 Trillion And Profit Of IDR 2.13 Trillion In 2021
JAKARTA - Poultry company PT Japfa Comfeed Tbk (JPFA) posted a profit for the year of Rp2.13 trillion throughout 2021. This achievement skyrocketed 74.39 percent compared to the profit of Rp1.22 trillion in 2020.
In JPFA's financial report, quoted on Monday 7 March, earnings per share attributable to owners of the parent company is IDR 174 per share, an increase from the previous year of IDR 79 per share. In terms of revenue, the company owned by the conglomerate Handojo Santosa managed to score a 21.40 percent increase in net sales, from IDR 36.94 trillion in 2020 to IDR 44.87 trillion in 2021.
Commercial sales and animal feed were the biggest contributors with contributions of IDR 17.60 trillion and IDR 13.92 trillion, respectively.
In terms of market segment, Japfa's sales to the domestic market reached IDR 44.25 trillion, up 21.48 percent from the 2020 achievement of IDR 36.42 trillion. Meanwhile, export sales rose 16.11 percent from IDR 536.80 billion to IDR 623.30 billion.

Along with the increase in sales, the cost of goods sold also increased to IDR 36.86 trillion, 24.8 percent higher than the cost of goods sold in 2020 which was IDR 29.53 trillion. A significant increase was seen in the cost of raw materials used, which swelled by 29.93 percent from IDR 24.69 trillion to IDR 32.09 trillion.
This increase in raw materials triggered a decline in JPFA's gross profit margin throughout 2021 to 17.87 percent, while in 2020 the gross profit margin was at 20.09 percent.
