Aftershock In Pasaman West Residents Scattered Out Of Their Homes
SIMPANG EMPAT - The people of West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra rushed out of their homes when a strong aftershock occurred, Thursday at around 13:37 WIB.
"It felt strong and we immediately left the house to save ourselves", said a resident of Kajai, Talamau District, Iden, Thursday, March 3.
According to him, the continuous aftershocks have traumatized the community and panicked.
"Currently residents are worried, especially since many of their houses have been destroyed and damaged by the recent earthquake", he said.
Another resident, Zul, said the earthquake that occurred on Thursday afternoon was strong near MAN Kajai.
"Quite strong and worrying. We also ran out of the house afraid of the building collapsing", he said.
According to the BMKG (Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency), the earthquake occurred with a magnitude of 4.8 at 13:37 WIB with Lok 0.15 North Latitude, 100.00 East Longitude (8 kilometers southeast of Talu Pasaman Barat, West Sumatra at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Currently, the West Pasaman Regency Government is continuing to collect data on the damage caused by the earthquake that occurred last Friday, March 25.

From temporary data, hundreds of buildings were damaged by the earthquake in West Pasaman, especially in Kajai and Simpang Timbo Abu.
