Banjarnegara Regent Inactive Budhi Sarwono Exposed To COVID-19, Session Postponed
SEMARANG - The trial for the alleged corruption case of the Banjarnegara Regent, Central Java, inactive Budhi Sarwono was postponed for two weeks because the defendant had to undergo treatment after being confirmed for COVID-19.
"It has been postponed because the defendant has confirmed COVID-19," said Semarang Corruption Court Spokesperson Kukuh Subyakto in Semarang, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 15.
According to him, Chief Justice Rochmad who heard the case will again hold a trial on March 1, 2022.
The trial for alleged corruption is held twice a week at the Semarang Corruption Court.
In this case, Budhi Sarwono was tried with a businessman and confidant named Kedi Affandi.
The trial proceeded in a hybrid manner in which the panel of judges, public prosecutors and legal counsel for the defendants were at the Semarang Corruption Court, while the two defendants attended an online trial from the KPK detention room in Jakarta.
Budhi Sarwono was charged with accepting bribes of Rp. 18.7 billion and gratification of Rp. 7.5 billion from various projects that allegedly involved his three companies.
Budhi was charged with Article 12 letters i and 12B of Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
