Making Uneasy Dispose Of Garbage Carelessly, Bekasi Regency Government Promises Strict Actions For Mafia To Unscrupulous Management
BEKASI - The Bekasi Regency Government, West Java will take firm action against the garbage mafia who illegally disposes of waste in landfills (TPS).
"There will be strict sanctions. We will also take action against the perpetrators or management and others according to the Environmental Law. I have instructed the Bekasi Regency Government's Gakkum (Law Enforcement) Section", said Bekasi Regency Regional Secretary, Dedy Supriyadi, in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, Antara on Monday, February 7th.
Dedy admitted that he had coordinated with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and the West Java Provincial Government to take firm action against the criminals and the mafia who disposed of garbage in places that were not designated for it.
"Not only closing but the trash mafia involved will also be dealt with by applicable regulations", he said.
He also asked the public who are aware of the existence of waste disposal activities in locations that are not designated to immediately report to the Law Enforcement Section of the Bekasi Regency Government and local law enforcement officials.

"We ask the public if they see waste disposal activities at illegal TPS, immediately inform us so that we take action immediately", he said.
The Bekasi Regency Government has expressed a commitment to environmental conservation. This commitment was also stated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the eight buffer zones of the capital, five institutions, and relevant ministries to resolve the waste problem.
As a form of regional commitment, he said, at the end of January 2022, his party has also closed the illegal waste landfill and TPS in other places.
"In addition to Sumberjaya, we have also arranged other illegal dumping sites. Simultaneously we are doing it, at PT Delta and Babelan which are on the banks and the river. This is a form of commitment from the Bekasi Regency Government and the central government to curb illegal TPS", said he.
