Bank Indonesia: MSME Digital Financial Inclusion Increases Economic Productivity And Resilience
JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) stated that the availability of easy access and financial services for MSMEs is an important factor in increasing productivity and resilience to economic shocks.
Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor, Doni Joewono, said digital financial inclusion is one of the priority agendas of the 2022 G20 Indonesia Presidency.
"Through the use of digitalization, financial inclusion can be encouraged to increase productivity and sustainable economic inclusiveness, especially in the MSME group, including those owned by women and young people", he said in a statement quoted on Thursday, February 3.
According to Doni, technological advancements, digitization of financial products and services, as well as online business activities can support MSMEs in maintaining income and business in the midst of a pandemic.

“The micro and small sectors in Indonesia have been able to adapt quickly and switch to digital-based businesses. This is reflected in a BI survey last year which found that 20 percent of MSMEs were able to mitigate the impact of the pandemic by digitizing their businesses and businesses", he said.
In harmony, the adoption of non-cash transactions such as debit cards and electronic money has experienced a rapid increase, as reflected in the nominal December 2021 QRIS transactions which reached IDR 27.7 trillion or grew 237 percent per year.
"The MSME development agenda is one of the main issues with a focus on utilizing digitalization to increase productivity, stability, and economic inclusiveness", concluded Doni.
