Dismissing PDIP-PSI's Doubts About The Short Time For Formula E Circuit Construction, Jakarta Deputy Governor: We Build Roads, Not Buildings

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria dismissed the pessimistic expression of the PDIP and PSI factions of the DKI DPRD regarding the construction of the Formula E circuit in just three months.

According to Riza, the construction of this electric car racing track can be caught up even though it is carried out in the period from February to April 2022. It is different from building construction which does take a long time.

"About the short time, God willing, if you want to build the road, I'm sorry, I don't mean to make it easy, it can be done quickly. It's different if we build a building. We're building a road here," Riza said when met in Central Jakarta, Friday, January 28. .

This Gerindra Party politician also responded to the issue of re-auctioning the tender for the construction of the Formula E track in the Ancol area.

According to him, the re-auction was not carried out because the tender failed. Although, on the Jakpro e-Procurement website, the previously opened tender auction said a "failed" statement.

"Formula E is once again not a failed tender. There are things that need to be revised because we want the whole process to be good, transparent, open. Technically, this is an international activity, there are many conditions that must be met," he said.

Previously, the chairman of the DKI DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, from the PDIP Faction, was pessimistic that Formula E could be held when there were only four months left, sponsors had not yet entered, tenders had not been decided, and the circuit had not been built.

As Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Mandalika Circuit for MotoGP, Prasetyo views that the construction of the circuit from February to April as the target of PT Jakarta Propertindo BUMD is irrational.

"I am an Advisor Consultant of Mandalika, I know. Creating a race track is not like making a Tamiya track. It is irrational to build 3 months. The rationale is 2 years, boss. It must be mature," said Prasetyo.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta PSI DPW Michael Victor Sianipar regretted the attitude of the DKI Provincial Government which was closed about the news of the failure of the Formula E tender auction.

"About the failed auction, Governor Anies and Jakpro did not dare to speak openly as to why. All this throwing around. This makes the public more confused, we are the only ones who are confused every day. Hands-off racing is dangerous. This means, many are not clear, "said Michael.
