JAKARTA - YouTube has launched an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based playlist creation feature. With this feature, users only need to give commands in text form to create a new playlist.
This new tool has been launched on all YouTube and YouTube Music devices on iOS and Android-based devices. However, only users who subscribe to YouTube Premium can access the new feature.
To use the feature, users only need to access the Library tab and select the 'AI playlist' option to start creating a playlist. Through this menu, users can submit commands in text and voice form.
Users can also request specific music genres such as death metal, kpop ballads, or even indie pop. The system will automatically find music that matches the user's mood and genre.
This is not the first time YouTube has integrated AI technology into its platform. Since July 2024, the Google-owned platform has been testing AI features such as a text-based dedicated radio station. This feature is only being tested in the US.
The launch of this feature is part of YouTube's strategy to increase the value of its Premium subscription package. YouTube continues to present exclusive features that cannot be obtained by free users.
Recently, YouTube has also started restricting access to song lyrics. Now, only subscribed users can access song lyrics freely. Indirectly, users are encouraged to switch to a paid service.
The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
