JAKARTA - Apple is said to be preparing the iPhone 18 Pro Max which can be the heaviest iPhone ever made. This was revealed, according to a recent leak from the Digital Instant leaker on the Weibo platform.

Although Apple is known to often refresh large designs every few years, small changes in each generation also often occur. But this time, the change seems to make the device thicker and heavier than its predecessor.

Digital Instant claims that the iPhone 18 Pro Max thickness will slightly increase from the previous model, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which has a thickness of 8.75 mm. Although it was not mentioned how much it increased, this change is believed to be not very significant visually.

However, what is more striking is that the weight of the iPhone 18 Pro Max is estimated to reach around 243 grams, or 10 grams heavier than its predecessor. If true, this would make it the toughest iPhone in history.

The source did not clearly explain the cause of this weight increase. However, analysts estimate it could be due to the thickness of the new frame or a greater increase in physical battery capacity to support device performance.

Apple had switched to titanium in the iPhone 15 and 16 Pro series to lower weight. If the company returns to using aluminum or other mixed materials, this could be one of the reasons for the heavy increase.
