JAKARTA - Developer by Play by Play Studios announced that its new game, entitled The Run: Got Next, will be rebranded to NBA The Run, will be released for PlayStation 5, Series Xbox, and PC via Steam in 2026.
"I spent 20 years working on some of the most influential sporting games and franchises of all time. With the NBA The Run, I came to build a type of game that I always wanted to play: fast, stylish, and social, made for the same casual and hardcore players," said Michael Young, Creative Director, Play by Play Studios.
The NBA The Run invites you to travel the world to legendary outdoor basketball fields, with gameplay 3v3 constantly growing and focusing on style, connection, and competition.

"Our mission is to design a defense that can't wait for you to play. In the NBA The Run, defense brings anticipation, time, and immediate impact. Big blocks, lightning strikes, push, dives are all here," he added.

Young said that this game was built with rollback netcode technology, so the game would feel smoother, responsive, and lag-free, with cross-platform support.
The core part of this game is the Knockout Tournament, a bracket-style tournament mode that can be played solo or team. Each round is 2-5 minutes long with Random Rules like Dunkfest or Speed Round, making every match feel fresh and unexpected.
