Regarding The White Book Of AI Roadmaps, Academics Emphasize Ethics In The Campus Environment

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) is still compiling a White Book on the Roadmap for National Artificial Intelligence and the Concept of Guidelines for Artificial Intelligence Ethics.

The academic and Google Developer Expert, Esther Irawati Setiawan, who also participated in the discussion on the preparation of this white paper explains that one of the main focuses regulated in it is the ethics of using responsible AI, especially in the campus environment.

According to him, the campus became a spear for education. He suggested that AI technology be used optimally in various sectors.

"For example, campuses must now also provide boundaries, which tasks are allowed with AI, which tasks are not allowed. Which tests are allowed with AI, which tests are not allowed. So we have all arranged together," Esther said on Wednesday, September 24.

However, AI can still be used by students, for brainstorming or discussing ideas. However, he emphasized, the initial ideas and basic ideas still have to come from the student himself.

Not to forget, students must also have critical thinking and problem solving skills so that their final tasks are useful. AI can be used to deepen more in-depth research.

"That's fine, but the main thought must come from students," he continued.

In the preparation of the thesis, AI can also be used for technical matters such as improving grammar or grammar. According to Esther, the rules for using AI should focus on ethics.

He emphasized that the reasonable use of AI is when the AI model provides benefits to all parties fairly (faimen), does not benefit one party alone, and is unbiased.

"Then the two AI models can also be applied, yes, when we built AI, not only for example Jakarta, but all of Indonesia must be adjusted, so that this AI can be reversemed in areas whose resources are not as strong as Jakarta," he concluded.

The last is credit. In the preparation of thesis or scientific works, students must honestly state where AI is used, for example for research, improving problem formulation, seeking references, or fact-finding.
