JAKARTA - Less than two weeks since its release, Apple's "F1: The Movie" is expected to surpass 4.8 trillion rupiah (equivalent to 300 million US dollars) at the global box office this weekend. This achievement is a big step for Apple in the big screen film industry and proves its ambition to seriously compete in the world of cinema.

On the weekend of its opening, the film earned revenue of around 2.3 trillion rupiah (equivalent to 145 million US dollars), a figure that almost matched the total combined revenue over the opening weekend of previous Apple films such as Killers of the Flower Moon, Napoleon, Argylle, and Fly Me to the Moon, which generated around 2.85 trillion rupiah (176 million US dollars).

Not only that, this achievement is also a record opening of the biggest film in Brad Pitt's career.

According to a report from the Financial Times, the film is expected to surpass 8.37 trillion rupiah (US $ 517 million), which is the total global revenue of all Apple films ever released in theaters.

To date, Apple has not officially announced when F1: The Movie will be available on Apple TV+, but it is expected that this film will air after the cinema's distribution period is over in the next few months.
