BEKASI - The Ministry of Communication and Digital will call representatives of the World including Worldcoin and World ID this week, to provide clarification on its services.
Minister of Trade Meutya Hafid emphasized that this temporary suspension was based on two reasons, namely public unrest and initial findings related to permits that did not comply with the provisions.
This decision was taken as a precautionary measure as well as a response to potential violations found in the evaluation process.
"On those two grounds, we have carried out a temporary suspension. From there we will make a summons, possibly next week. From there we will see," said Meutya after the handover ceremony for the Key Home Program for Indonesian Media Industry Employees on Tuesday, May 6 in Cibitung, Bekasi.
However, Meutya emphasized that this phenomenon did not only occur in Indonesia, but had become an issue in other countries.
Therefore, the Indonesian government through the Ministry of Communication and Digital has temporarily frozen Worldcoin and World ID services while waiting for further information from the World side.
"So at this time, we are temporarily frozen while looking at the explanation from them. If it cannot be explained, then we will stop this," he said.
Meanwhile, Tools for Humanity, the company behind the World project made by Sam Altman and Alex Blania, confirmed that they do not keep any user data.
