ChatGPT Capai 400 Million Weekly Active Users As Of February 2025

JAKARTA OpenAI announced that the number of ChatGPT users has increased rapidly. As of February, the number of active ChatGPT weekly users has passed 400 million.

This news was conveyed by an OpenAI spokesperson, citing Reuters on Friday, February 21. In just two months, its weekly active users have increased by more than 100 million. In fact, ChatGPT only had 300 million active users last December.

In addition to its active users who have increased, users of paid business packages have also increased. In February, the number of paid subscribers has exceeded 2 million users. When compared to September 2024 data, the number has doubled.

This is good news for companies amid the widespread use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered chatbots. Although many new chatbot applications continue to emerge, ChatGPT is still the chatbot with the most enthusiasts.

This latest data also shows OpenAI's optimism amid DeepSek's furore. Since January 2024, DeepSek has suddenly been in demand by people in various parts of the world, even in the US. This chatbot is claimed to be better than its competitors, including ChatGPT.

However, the surge in DeepSek did not make ChatGPT replaced. The reason is, shortly after DeepSek became popular, the chatbot made by Chinese companies began to be doubted because of the problem of data protection of its users.

This platform is claimed to use user data excessively, and there was even a report stating that DeepSeeek data containing a history of leaked user chats on the internet. Therefore, the number of ChatGPT users continues to increase.
