Called By Komdigi, Jagat Agrees To Change Game Format And Provide Complaints Channel

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs summoned Jagat's Co-Founder, Barry Beagen, to follow up on public reports related to the game of the Jagat Coin which often disturbs public order.

The Deputy Minister of Communication and Trade, Angga Raka Prabowo, said that this summons was a form of the government's efforts to support the development of responsible digital platforms and healthy digital spaces in Indonesia.

In addition, Angga also admitted that he continued to get reports from both the public and government agencies regarding hunting for Jagat Coins that damaged public facilities in various regions.

"Therefore, we communicate with the Jagat to obtain information and also encourage the development and use of digital platforms that have a positive impact on society," he said, quoted on Thursday, January 16.

He also emphasized that if the platform of Jagat is proven to have violated the norms and legal values in Indonesia, then Komdigi will not hesitate to take firm action against the platform.

In accordance with Komdigi's direction, Jagat Co-Founder, Barry Beagen apologized and stated that he would change the game format of the Jagat Coin.

"Based on constructive discussions with Komdigi, we will turn Coin Hunt's format into a 'State Mission' to encourage users to contribute positively to public spaces and public facilities," he said.

Barry expressed his commitment to changing the activity format on the platform within the next three days and creating an official channel to monitor and report any damage to public facilities due to hunting for the coin.
