Here's An Easy Way To Delete Annoying Followers On Instagram, They Don't Even Know They're Being Deleted

JAKARTA – Instagram offers many ways to reduce interaction with annoying and unwanted people on their platform. Users can remove, restrict or block annoying followers on Instagram, with each method having its own pros and cons.

While restricting followers can help users hide those people's comments, likes, and direct messages without telling them something went wrong, blocking prevents them from interacting with the account completely, including commenting, liking, or sending direct messages.

Users can also delete followers to reduce their interactions with annoying people on Instagram. When a follower is removed, the person will not be notified of the removal.

The only way they will know is if the remover account is set to 'Private', in which case the deleted user will no longer be able to see the deleter's posts etc. Also, when someone is removed as a follower, the previous account's likes and comments will remain in the deleter's post.

The option to remove followers was not initially available for 'Public' accounts, but that changed a few years ago when the feature rolled out to all Instagram accounts, regardless of whether they were set to 'Public' or 'Private.'

To remove a follower, tap the profile avatar in the lower right corner of the Instagram home screen, then select 'Followers' to view the entire list of followers. Now find the follower that needs to be removed and hit the 'Remove' button next to their username.

Instagram will ask for confirmation, so press 'Delete' again, this time on the sliding menu, to confirm the decision. Once that's done, the followers will be deleted for good.

It's worth noting that even after a follower is deleted, they can still interact with the remover if the latter's account is set to 'Public.' However, deletion will ensure that the content of the latter will no longer appear in the previous feed. Whether the deleted follower will be able to see the deleter's posts or Instagram Stories will depend on the privacy settings of the latter.

For public accounts, deleted followers can still see everything and even send DMs to the remover. They can also follow back on that account unless they are banned for good.

For private accounts, the deleted follower will no longer be able to interact with the user or view their content. They may ask to follow back, but the request must be accepted before becoming a follower again.
