Data from Speedtest Reveals the Fastest Mobile Operator Indonesia in Q3 2021

JAKARTA - Broadband service provider Biznet and cellular operator Telkomsel still occupy the first position as the service with the fastest Internet performance in Q3 2021 in Indonesia.

The report was just released by Ookla based on data from its trademark Speedtest Intelligence. It is known that during the third quarter of this year, Biznet once again became the fastest broadband provider in Indonesia, with a Speed Score of 42.17.

Not only that, but Biznet also achieved the highest Speedtest Intelligence broadband in Indonesia during Q3 2021, which managed to beat MyRepublic with an average speed of 68.3 percent to 63.5 percent.

In terms of operators, Telkomsel is still the mainstay of telecommunication service providers among others with a speed score of 30.49. Telkomsel also managed to achieve the highest Speedtest Intelligence in Indonesia at 85.7 percent, which shows a minimum download speed of 5 Mbps and a minimum upload speed of 1 Mbps, beating XL 82.7 percent and IM3 Ooredoo 82.6 percent.

Meanwhile, Speedtest Intelligence also calculates the average latency for the top cellular providers in Indonesia during Q3 2021. As a result, Telkomsel's Internet speed has the lowest latency at 30 ms. Followed by Tri who is in second place with an average latency of 32 ms. Next there is IM3 Ooredoo which still has a fairly far latency of 36 ms, below it is filled by Smartfren and XL which are both at 41 ms.

In addition, Speedtest Intelligence also displays regional data in Indonesia, which has broadband services with the fastest downloads, which Jakarta has achieved, but lost to Makassar which has mobile download speeds with an average download of 25.30, while Jakarta is only 24.31.

Speedtest Intelligence also analyzes the performance of some of the fastest mobile phones entering the Indonesian market. The average is dominated by iPhone and Xiaomi during Q3 2021. Where the iPhone 12 Pro Max 5G outperforms the Xiaomi Redmi K40 5G as the fastest popular device with an average download speed of 44.95 Mbps to 43.18 Mbps.

Unfortunately, Samsung was not included in the list, but the manufacturer's chipset Exynos 2100 managed to enter the row of the five fastest chipsets in Indonesia, with an average speed of 44.38. However, the South Korean company has not managed to outperform Qualcomm with its Snapdragon X55 5G chip which recorded an average speed of 44.45.
