WhatsApp's Archived Chats Feature Can Now Mute Annoying Chats Forever

JAKARTA - Not a few are wondering why currently archived WhatsApp contacts or chats cannot reappear on the Chat page if there are new messages. That's because WhatsApp has launched its developed Archived Chats feature.

This feature allows users to silence archived chats, even when they receive a new message on the Chats page. That means all Archived Chats will remain permanently stored unless the user chooses to manually unarchive them.

Previously, contacts and groups archived on WhatsApp would be unarchived if the user received a new message. This new feature also allows users to archive all conversations that are less important if the user doesn't want them to appear on the main chat page.

Users will not receive any notifications for messages received on archived contacts unless they are mentioned (mentioned).

This feature was initially rolled out to some iOS users last week and has now rolled out to all Android users. To try this feature, users must have the latest version of WhatsApp.

The Facebook-owned instant messaging app says the update aims to give users more control over the messages that come to them. The company also reported that many users wished that archived messages could not reappear. Therefore, WhatsApp brought this feature.
