1. Tap the “menu icon” (three horizontal lines) at the top right of your screen (Android) or at the bottom of your screen (iPhone and iPad).

2. Scroll down and tap “Settings & Privacy”.

3. Select “Settings”.

4. Scroll down to “News Feed Settings” and select “Reaction Preferences”. This will take you to the Reaction preferences settings page. From here, you can disable the reaction count on your posts, from other users' posts, or both.

5. Toggle the slider next to “posts from other people” to hide the total number of reactions on Facebook posts from other users. To hide the number of reactions on your post, toggle the slider adjacent to In “your posts”.

Hiding Reaction Count on Facebook on the Web

If you access Facebook through a browser using your PC, Mac, or mobile device, follow these steps.

1. Select the downward-facing arrow in the top-right corner.

2. Select “Settings and Privacy” on the next page.

3. Go to “News Feed Preferences” > “Reaction preferences”.

4. Toggle the slider next to In “posts from other people” or In “your posts”, or both.

Understanding Facebook Reaction Preferences

Facebook's new reaction preference setting allows you to hide the reaction count on your posts as well as posts from other users. But how far do these two settings go?

If you hide the reaction count on a post from other Facebook users, you won't see this number in your News Feed, Pages and Facebook groups. This setting will also affect the ads that appear in News Feed and other places. However, this is not a weapon to hide the number of reactions across Facebook.
