JAKARTA - The short video application TikTok doesn't seem to want its prestige to be crushed by Instagram. Now, the company has announced that it will extend the duration of its video content creation by three minutes.

Previously, TikTok limited content creators to only 15 to 60 seconds of video. The plan, this feature will be rolled out in the coming weeks for the latest version of TikTok to all content creators on the platform.

"We will be rolling out the option to create longer videos for everyone on TikTok, giving our global community the flexibility to record, upload, and edit videos up to three minutes long directly within TikTok", said TikTok.

Cited from Ubergizmo, Saturday 3 July, later, once a video is made, users will get longer video notifications that are now part of their creative tools.

Of course, all the updates made by TikTok do not escape being juxtaposed with its competitor, Instagram. Because it is claimed to be similar to the child's social media from Facebook.

Instagram also previously introduced the ability for users to upload short videos of limited duration. But after that, the company launched an IGTV feature that allows users to upload videos with longer durations. This feature is also suspected as a way to compete with YouTube.

TikTok is indeed an easy-to-use application, with a wide selection of interesting content. However, it seems that TikTok wants their creators' content to stay on the app, thus providing long-form videos.
