Pertamina Fuel Scandal Will Be Completely Investigated, DPR Affirms No Special Committee

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission XII DPR RI Bambang Haryadi emphasized that his party believes in the performance of the Attorney General's Office (AGO) in investigating cases of crude oil management. Bambang stated that there was no discourse on the formation of a special committee (Pansus) by Commission XII of the DPR to address this case.

"There is no discourse on the special committee, we believe in the professionalism of the Attorney General's Office. We are not included in the realm of law, please enforce the law as strictly as possible," Bambang told reporters, Friday (7/3/2025).

The AGO is investigating the corruption case of crude oil governance and refinery products at PT Pertamina, subholding and contractor cooperation contracts for the 2018-2023 period. Most recently, the Attorney General stated that he was working with BPK RI to calculate state losses in this case.

Bambang stated that he fully supports law enforcement by the AGO in the case of corruption in crude oil management. He emphasized that this case would not be drawn into the political realm.

"We support and we leave it to the prosecutors and the BPK. Let law enforcement work thoroughly, there should be no political interference here," said Bambang.

In addition, Bambang supports Pertamina to be better in terms of community service. He said naughty people had to be arrested, but Pertamina had to be saved.

"We support law enforcement and support Pertamina to be even better in serving the community. Don't because of the actions of the elements, Pertamina, whose assets of this nation have become damaged. Arrest the elements, but we save and improve Pertamina so that they can serve the community even better," he said.

Currently, a total of nine people have been charged as suspects in that case.

Six of them are high-ranking sub-holding officials of PT Pertamina, while the other three are from the private sector. They are:

DW, as Commissioner of PT Navigator Khatulistiwa and Commissioner of PT. Jenggala Maritim; 7. GRJ, as Commissioner of PT Jengga Maritim and Director of PT Orbit Terminal Merak; 8. MK, as Director of Central and Niaga Marketing of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga;9. EC, as VP Trading Operation of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga with the initials EC;
