JAKARTA - The government through the Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) Kominfo and Ruangguru has successfully held a "Training on the Utilization of Digital Learning Platforms to Improve Teacher and Student Competence" in Agats District, Asmat Regency, Papua early last June.

A total of 40 teachers and 40 selected students received training and scholarships in the Indonesia Teaching Fellowship (ITF) and Indonesia Learning Fellowship (ILF) programs.

One of the principals of the school where his subordinates participated in the training revealed that the benefits were enormous. Especially in the development of ways of learning.

"When we talk about benefits, it is very useful for us, especially at my school. There are nine of my teachers who join this program. They get new knowledge and can share knowledge with other teachers. They can support each other and so that other teachers are like that." motivated to take part in this program," said the Principal of SMUN 1 Tabukan Utara, Juinar, during the BAKTI Webinar, Friday, July 2.

Juinar also added that many changes have occurred in the school he leads after joining the BAKTI and Ruangguru programs. "Obviously there was (a change), before this digital training, there was a lot of knowledge about lesson content that they didn't know before. But with this training their knowledge is increasing, and they are more innovating in terms of learning," said Juinar.

"This was seen during yesterday's exam. They (students) were able to use the Google Form facility with Android phones. Of the 132 students, only seven were left who had not been facilitated by cellphones by their parents, so we borrowed them from the school," added Juniar.

Danny Januar Ismawan as Director of Public and Government Services at BAKTI Kominfo said he would continue to distribute telecommunications infrastructure in the education sector during the pandemic.

"This is in accordance with the mandate of President Joko Widodo some time ago, to immediately accelerate the expansion of access and increase digital infrastructure as well as the provision of internet services. It is proven that 71 percent have been built in 3T areas, and 29 percent in non 3T areas," said Danny.

In addition, Danny also hopes that those in remote areas can also experience the facilities and quality of education that are qualified.

"Our hope is that friends in remote areas can experience the same facilities and quality of education as those in big cities," said Danny.

Not only in the education sector, Danny also said BAKTI is targeting several other sectors. "In general, there are actually four sectors that we support, apart from education, we also encourage MSMEs, Tourism and Health," he added.

It was previously reported that BAKTI will build 9,113 BTS in villages and sub-districts in the 3T area until 2022. Especially areas that have not been reached by the 4G network.
