JAKARTA - B. Braun Indonesia, a medical technology company based in Germany, officially launched Introcan Safety 3. This IV catheter is integrated with blood control septum technology or a special valve to reduce the risk of blood exposure.

Referring to clinical systematic reviews, the risk of blood exposure during the infusion setup stage in hospitals can be ten times higher than the risk of needle-stick injuries. Therefore, B. Braun presents a new blood control technology that supports a zero visible blood contact approach.

The catheter in this technology supports a visible bloodless contact approach during routine procedures. This medical device architecture innovation is expected to protect nurses and doctors during work, both nationally and internationally.

The protective system on this catheter is designed to work passively and will automatically activate when the needle is pulled out of the vein. This automatic mechanism helps minimize human negligence without requiring additional steps or activation from nurses.
