YouTube Begins to Recover After Mass Disruption

JAKARTA - YouTube experienced an outage that caused a large number of users to be unable to access the platform. Now, the problem is reported to be slowly being resolved.

Based on a report from 9to5google, YouTube can be accessed stably by a number of users. However, there are still reports stating that the online video streaming platform is difficult to access.

The disruption on YouTube was first detected on Tuesday, February 17 at night local time. Data on the Downdetector tracking site showed a spike in complaints from users, both on the YouTube website and on the mobile app.

The main problem is seen on the home page and the row of videos in the subscription tab that fails to load. Some users also said that the duration of playing videos became much slower than usual.

Not only the main service, YouTube Shorts and YouTube TV features are also affected. This disruption attacks various devices, ranging from iPhones, iPads, to Android-based smartphones.

Many viewers reported that they were suddenly 'kicked out' forcibly from their accounts while watching. Some others claimed that their viewing sessions were interrupted in the middle of the road because the application suddenly did not respond.

TeamYouTube has given official confirmation of this problem through social media. They stated that the technical team is working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

"Our team is currently working on fixing it and we appreciate your patience," YouTube said, quoted on Wednesday, February 18.

Fortunately, this problem is starting to improve even though there are no signs of a total recovery. For users who still have trouble accessing YouTube, they are advised to reload the application or website periodically until the service returns to normal.
