JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) is working with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison to restore communication services that were damaged due to flash floods in Aceh Tamiang.

In addition to collaborating in bringing back the telecommunications network, Komdigi and Indosat also help residents by providing clean water facilities and food needs. They have established boreholes and communal kitchens in a number of areas.

"We see points that need immediate assistance, especially for clean water needs," said Deputy Minister of Komdigi, Nezar Patria, when visiting one of the locations with clean water assistance in Aceh Tamiang on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

Komdigi also brought assistance in the form of Starlink devices. Routers for this satellite internet network are placed in several areas, such as village offices and mosques, so that residents can again reach the internet network.

Nezar hopes that all of these aids can ease the burden on the community in the midst of the recovery process. In addition to working with Indosat, Komdigi is also actively cooperating with other private parties to accelerate recovery in the affected areas.

CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Vikram Sinha, targets the maximum recovery of mobile services in Aceh. His party continues to coordinate intensively to monitor the development of the situation in the disaster location.

"We want to reach 90 percent today in Aceh, in this area," said Vikram, who visited the affected area.

Indosat deployed a technical team to the field to ensure that all digital infrastructure could return to operating stably.
