JAKARTA - The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and Telkomsel inaugurated the AI Innovation Hub as a center for the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) that provides direct benefits to the community.

The Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, hopes that the presence of the AI Innovation Hub can produce various AI innovations that are applicable, oriented towards the interests of the community, and support national priority programs.

Meutya also encouraged the AI Innovation Hub to focus on sectors that are close to public life, including food security, health, education, transportation, and government services.

According to the Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party, the acceleration of AI development can only be achieved through cross-sector collaboration, especially between academics and industry, to strengthen an inclusive and sustainable national artificial intelligence ecosystem.

"We hope that there will be innovations that come from this artificial intelligence technology," Meutya said in an official broadcast quoted on Wednesday, December 17.

This initiative is a follow-up to the declaration at the Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI) 2025, as well as in line with the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045.
