JAKARTA Samsung announced a new capability that will connect its ecosystem with Siri. Thanks to this ability, users can activate Samsung's smart home using Siri.
This competence comes to the SmartThings app. Thanks to this integration, Apple's digital assistant, which will get Artificial Intelligence (AI) support next year, could trigger smart home SmartThings automation using voice commands.
This is Samsung's continued effort to create 'peace for households with mixed OS'. This ability will help users who have a mixed device or cellphone other than the Samsung Galaxy.
Users can create a series of complex SmartThings routines with just one greeting to Siri. For example, the 'Good Morning' routine can be activated to adjust lighting, turn on coffee makers, and open curtains automatically.
Another example, users can set the 'House-Worning' routine. This routine can lock the door and turn off all lights automatically when the last person leaves the house.

In addition, there is the 'sleep Time' mode that can be arranged to turn off all devices or create a relaxation atmosphere by dimping the lights. All of these routines are available for iOS and Android users.
This update is also extended to Apple Watch users. Users can now access and control SmartThings apps directly from the wrist. They can view the full list of devices, send commands, and run Routines from anywhere.
Samsung also increases support for iOS Direct Activities. This feature can cover up to five of the last devices used. Devices such as air sanitizers, air conditioning, and dust suction robots can be monitored without having to fully open the SmartThings application.
