YouTube TV Discounts The Loss Of 20 Disney Channels, But Not According To Promises

JAKARTA YouTube TV offered its number of subscribers a monthly discount after failing to reach an agreement with Disney on October 30. However, this discount is different from the one promised.

Previously, YouTube stated that it would provide credit of 20 US dollars (IDR 334 thousand). However, some users actually reported that they only got credit of 10 US dollars (IDR 1637 thousand) per month for six months.

This monthly discount effectively reduces the price of YouTube TV to 73 US dollars (IDR 1.2 also) per month, making users save total expenditures of up to 60 US dollars (IDR 1 million). Although the compensation is quite large, the amount is still questionable.

The failure of a deal between YouTube and Disney led the company to remove all of its channels from Google's cable TV streaming service. A total of 20 channels from the Disney network, including ESPN, were removed.

This discount is still deemed insufficient to compensate for the loss of 20 Disney channels, including continued coverage of the college football, NFL, and NHL seasons. Some users still expect discounts according to previous YouTube promises.

In addition to the amount, Google was also criticized for not implementing this discount automatically to all affected customers. On the other hand, this offering is hidden on the account management page on the YouTube TV website.

To check and claim discounts, users must open the Membership Governance section, then click Managing Basic Packages on the YouTube TV website from PC. The discount appears to be only available to certain users, not to all customers.
