JAKARTA - Twitter is re-launching a verified account program for the public. This means that anyone and from anywhere is free to sign up for the blue check badge on their Twitter account profile account.

However, this time Twitter is quite firm in anticipating spammers and malicious accounts. The company will keep an eye on every account that receives a blue tick for several weeks.

If an account updates your account information (e.g. renamed), the company will immediately remove the Verified Accounts badge. That way, it is expected that every account that gets the badge can have a positive impact on the social media ecosystem.

In a release shared via the official blog, Twitter explained that the program comes with some updated criteria. Updates to these criteria are made based on feedback obtained from users.

In total, there are six new criteria that can get a blue tick from Twitter. Among others:

For now, the company has not opened the registration tap. According to the plan, registration of this program will begin in the 'next few weeks'.

Later, blue check account registration can be done through the Settings page. Next, the user simply clicks on the button provided.

After signing up, users can wait until Twitter has finished evaluating. The evaluation process can take only a few days. But, it can also last up to several weeks. Depending on the number of accounts applying to participate in the program.

A fairly slow process is not without cause. Because, Twitter will conduct the evaluation process and penilaia using human power. The goal of course is for the results to be truly convincing.

And if a user account proves to meet the proposed criteria, it won't take long for the blue check to be embedded in the profile page. Also, if Twitter has not approved the user's request, but there are users who think that they deserve a blue check, the company waives to resubmit the request.

However, the re-evaluation process can only be done 30 days after the first shipment. As for accounts that have received a blue check, users no longer need to join the program.
