Menkomdigi Meutya Reveals Three Steps To Build An Inclusive Digital Exosystem

JAKARTA - The Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, revealed three main moves currently being carried out by the government to realize digital transformation that is not only a matter of technology, but also humans and a fairer opportunity.

"Digital transformation is not just a matter of technology, but about humans, about opportunities that are fairer for all from city to remote areas," Meutya said in her official broadcast quoted Friday, October 31.

In the direction of national digital policy, he highlighted the three main moves currently being carried out by the government, namely building an inclusive digital ecosystem, accelerating innovation and efficiency, and scoring superior digital talents.

Meutya emphasized that digital development is not only a matter of physical infrastructure, such as BTS and satellites, but also the development of human talent.

Meutya explained that the Ministry of Communication and Trade has organized various training programs, including Digital Talent Scholarship and AI Talent Factory to produce digital talents.

In addition, the Ministry of Communication and Industry also provides space for these digital talents to connect with the industry through the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub and the HUB.ID Connection Hub.

Meanwhile, in terms of connectivity infrastructure, the Republic of Indonesia Satellite Program (SATRIA) I has presented internet access at 27,865 public service points and the launch of the Nusantara V Satellite to increase the national broadband capacity to 370 Gbps, the highest in ASEAN.

With the availability of connectivity and collaboration between the government and the private sector, Indonesia is now the largest digital market in ASEAN with 229.4 million internet users. This number is also believed to continue to increase in line with the ongoing development of connectivity infrastructure.

Meutya Hafid revealed that synergy and innovation are the two main key words for accelerating the transformation of the digital economy and finance.

"Progress can only be achieved if the government, regulators, industry, academics, and innovation actors step up together," he said.
