YouTube Opens Second Chance For Creators Whose Accounts Have Been Blocked

JAKARTA - YouTube announced it will provide a second chance, for creators whose accounts have been permanently blocked from YouTube, to build their new channels from scratch.

Called the pilot program, through this program certain creators can now apply for the creation of new channels after fulfilling a number of conditions.

We know that many creators have been laid off deserve a second chance. Our goal is to expand this program in the next few months for eligible creators," the company wrote on its blog.

In the next few weeks, eligible creators will see the request a new channel option when they enter YouTube Studio via desktop with the previous account. Once approved, they can create a new channel.

YouTube will consider a number of factors, including whether creators have committed serious or repeated violations, or whether creator activity on and off the platform has the potential to harm the YouTube community such as endangering children's safety.

However, YouTube insists that this program does not apply to creators who are blocked for copyright infringement or who violate the Creator Responsibility Policy policy.

Later, creators will also be able to apply back to the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) after the new channel meets the requirements of the program.
