HyperOS 3 Global Launched October 2025, Bring Android 16 And Increase AI

Jakarta - Along with the launch of the Xiaomi 15T series, Xiaomi officially announced the global availability of its newest generation operating system, HyperOS 3. This update, based on Android 16, will begin to roll out stably in October 2025. Previously, the beta HyperOS 3 program had started in China in August 2025.

HyperOS 3 comes with a variety of significant updates, including reshuffled interface designs, new AI features, better data protection, and deeper integration with Google Gemini.

Xiaomi HyperOS 3 features a fresh main screen design with more intuitive icons and widgets, providing a cleaner look. The company claims to have perfected more than 100 animations across the system for smoother and more visually fluid interactions.

One of the flagship features introduced is HyperIsland, which is similar to Apple's Dynamic Island. This feature serves as a notification and multitasking center, featuring dynamical application activities, call notifications, music, charging status, and schedules.

For Xiaomi tablets, HyperOS 3 introduces a vertical split-screen feature with a new ratio of 1:9, which allows for more efficient multitasking usage.

HyperOS 3 integrates Google Gemini in depth, providing AI capabilities across systems such as Gemini Live and Image Generation. In addition, there are other AI features that are improved, such as AI Writing, AI Speech Recognition, AI Search, AI Translate, AI Dynamic Wallpapers, AI Cinematic Lock Screen, and Gallery Search.

HyperConnect connectivity features are also improved, one of which is the "Touch to Share" function that allows devices to share the media, files and Wi-Fi passwords instantly by simply touching each other. Interestingly, this feature is even compatible with Apple devices.

For security, HyperOS 3 introduces Unified Authentication Service, privacy computing on devices and clouds, and MiTEE protocols for safe interconnectivity. The Device Finder feature also makes it easier for users to quickly locate their Xiaomi devices.

The launch of HyperOS 3 will begin in October 2025, with the Xiaomi 15T series as the first device to receive this update. Furthermore, the update will be rolled out in stages to various Xiaomi, and Redmi wearable phones, tablets and devices. Several specific Xiaomi TVs are also reported to be upgrading to HyperOS 3.
