Apple Opens Official Store On Douyin, Sells IPhone Using Douyin Pay In China

Jakarta Apple is getting serious about taking advantage of the influence of TikTok in China by opening an official store in Douyin, the TikTok 'brother' application specifically operating in mainland China and Hong Kong. This move allows users to buy iPhones and other Apple products directly in the app, using the Douyin Pay payment method.

Douyin, which is owned by ByteDance (TikTok's parent company), is a platform with more than 760 million monthly active users. Like TikTok, Douyin also has an internal marketplace that allows users to shop for products from various merchants. As of August 29, 2025, Apple officially joins as one of the merchants on this platform.

First reported by IT Home, Apple's official store on Douyin features a list of products such as iPhones at prices consistent with other large e-commerce platforms such as Tmall. Users can also take advantage of the 12-month interest-free installment option, making Apple's premium product purchases feel more affordable.

Interestingly, Apple even released a special logo inspired by Douyin's visual style. Apple's logo appears with scintillating glass effects with a touch of cyan color and a typical Macnta of TikTok/Douyin, affirming Apple's creative approach to attracting young audiences on the platform.

In addition to shopping, Douyin users can also get direct assistance from Apple Specialists and access video tutorials that make the process easier to switch to Apple's ecosystem.

This move continues Apple's trial conducted in mid-August 2025, where the company began testing Douyin Pay support on China's App Store. If fully implemented, users can purchase apps and services on the App Store using their Douyin Pay account.

This strategy shows how Apple adapts to China's unique digital landscape, leveraging the local application ecosystem to maintain the attractiveness of its products in the world's largest smartphone market.
