JAKARTA - Collaborating with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison launched the Anti-Spam and Anti-Scam features, artificial intelligence-based (AI) solutions designed to protect users from various threats of digital fraud.
This solution comes in response to real threats. Based on the Asia Scam Report 2024 from the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA), as many as 65% of Indonesians receive fraudulent attempts every week, ranging from phishing text messages, false job offers, to investment fraud schemes.
Indosat's Anti-Spam and Anti-Scam features work automatically and in real-time to detect suspicious senders of messages or callers, screen potential threats, and alert customers.
"This product was built in our AI Factory, which is located in Indonesia, supported by the NVIDIA Blackwell GPU which is one of the best in the world," said Indosat Ooredoo President Director and CEO Hutchison totaling Sinha at its launch event Thursday, August 7 in Jakarta.
With this collaboration, Indosat hopes that its new solution can strengthen Indonesia's ability to face spam and scams in real-time, strengthen the nation's digital resilience and build public confidence in the digital world.
In addition to the Ministry of Communication and Digigi, Indosat is also collaborating with Tanla, AI technology partners, and is supported by global collaborators such as Mastercard, GSMA, and GASA, in launching these Anti-Spam and Anti-Scam features.
