Apple Successfully Sells 3 Billion IPhone Units Since First Release

JAKARTA Apple revealed important achievements related to total iPhone sales globally. In less than four years, the company managed to sell three billion iPhone units.

This achievement was revealed by Apple CEO Tim Cook in the latest revenue report. Launching from Apple Insider, Cook stated that Apple had sold its 3rd billion iPhone in the third quarter of this year.

This achievement was achieved less than four years after the sale of the 2nd billion iPhone, to be precise in September 2021. This is a faster time than the sales time of 1 billion to 2 billion iPhone units.

Apple achieved its first billion sales in July 2016. This means that the company will take nearly five years to double the number of sales of its units. This achievement also shows an increasing rate of iPhone sales.

There are several factors that encourage an increase in sales of this unit. As Apple managed to reach 2 billion units, this achievement was driven by the increasing popularity of Apple in China and a number of other markets.

The iPhone design has also experienced many developments so that it continues to be in demand by the public. What's more, Apple continues to be committed to strengthening the privacy and security of its cellphones so that the reputation of its brand continues to be raised.

To reach the next billion units, Apple will invest in the development of Apple Intelligence. The company plans to make the iPhone a tough Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based platform.

Apple wants to compete with Google and Samsung by launching a more personal AI-based Siri in 2026. If this effort is successful, the sales rate of the iPhone may increase. Apple is also estimated to reach 4 billion units by 2028.
