JAKARTA Louis Vuitton Korea announced that there was a system violation in June that caused a partial leak of customer data, including contact information. However, the company confirmed that customer financial data was not affected.
In an official statement released on Friday, July 5, the Korean unit of the French luxury brand said: "We regret to inform you that unauthorized third parties had accessed our system, which resulted in a leak of some customer information."
The company said it was only aware of this breach on Wednesday 2 July and had reported it to the competent government authorities.
Louis Vuitton Korea also said it had taken steps to control violations and improve the security of their systems to prevent similar incidents in the future.

This incident adds to the list of data breach cases that befell LVMH groups in South Korea. Previously, two other brands under the group Christian Dior Couture and Tiffany had been the object of investigation by the South Korean Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) since May 2025, following reports of customer data leaks that occurred earlier this year.
This kind of data leak is a serious spotlight in South Korea, which has strict rules regarding the protection of personal information. The government is expected to tighten surveillance of foreign companies operating in the country, particularly in the luxury retail sector that stores high-end customer data.
