JAKARTA - The mobile operator Vodafone Group Plc is officially partnering with Alphabet Inc.'s Google Cloud. The cooperation between the two will develop the first digital data service center with mobile cloud computing.

Quoted from Reuters, about 1,000 workers in the UK, Spain and the United States will be asked by the two companies to create "Nucleus", a new cloud-based storage and analytics portal that will accommodate Vodafone data.

Nucleus will be able to process about 50 terabytes of data a day inside the cloud, Vodafone said in a statement.

"The two companies will encourage the use of reliable and secure data analysis, insights and learning to support the simultaneous introduction of new digital products and services for Vodafone customers around the world," the statement added.

As part of a six-year agreement, the two companies will also develop a system called "Dynamo", which can extract and transport data in the various countries where the UK-based telecommunications company operates.

According to the FT report, the two companies also want to sell consulting services to other multinational businesses looking to move large amounts of data to the cloud in the future.
