JAKARTA Samsung finally confirmed the presence of One UI 8. Unlike previous firmware, Samsung will not be late at the launch this time because they have opened their beta program.

In a release shared on the official website, Samsung said that One UI 8 will be present and access will initially open to developers. Although the date has not yet been revealed, the stable version of One UI 8 will be available this summer.

"(This firmware will) initiate a new era of software intelligence that presents true multimodal AI agents, designed for the Samsung Galaxy in various conditions," Samsung said, quoted on Thursday, May 29, 2025.

This latest Firmware is also interesting because Samsung will present Android 16 at One UI 8. Indirectly, Samsung announced that the latest Android launch will not be as late as before.

"Samsung and Google actively share their respective design systems and feedback from each other, accelerating the development of the software that makes One UI 8 one of the first UI platforms to adopt Android 16," reads Samsung's statement.

The first device to get One UI 8 is the latest foldable phone, namely the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7. After that, Samsung will gradually expand its firmware to longer flagship devices.

This is good news for Galaxy users who still receive Android updates support. The reason is, they have been harmed by the slow launch of One UI 7.

This Firmware has just been extended to the flagship device and is still in the expansion stage on the mid-range device. In fact, the software that carries Android 15 was supposed to be released a few months ago.
