JAKARTA As one of the popular messaging platforms, Telegram is actively rolling out new features. This time, the app added performance and security improvements to the group calling feature.

Group calls have been available since 2021 with capabilities that continue to grow. From those who previously could only have casual conversations, calls in the form of sound, to making video calls.

The development of the times made the group's needs change. Therefore, Telegram has increased the number of people who can join voice calls. Now, group admins can add 200 people to active calls.

Although almost no one makes calls with hundreds of users, this increase shows that Telegram remains a lightweight app despite doing heavy activity. Users will not experience interference during calls.

Still related to the calling feature, users can easily invite others into the call. If searching for people's contacts feels troublesome, people who make calls can share calls via a QR link or code.

Next, group users can share audio, videos, or share screens with dozens of people at once. This messaging platform also offers the ability to make conference calls without the need to create a group chat room.

"Now, you can start end-to-end encrypted conference calls without creating an ideal group chat for spontaneous meetings with colleagues or talking with friends and family," Telegram said, quoted on Friday, May 2.

Finally, Telegram improves its end-to-end encryption verification system. Users can quickly verify this security using only emojis, an upgrade not found on competing platforms like WhatsApp.
