Oracle Provides Cloud And AI Computing Services For Singapore's Military

JAKARTA - Oracle, a technology company from the United States, announced on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, that it will provide cloud computing services and artificial intelligence (AI) for Singapore's defense technology agency. This agreement marks Oracle's first collaboration in Southeast Asia in the field.

In this agreement, Oracle will provide isolated "water-gapped" cloud computing infrastructure for Singapore's armed forces and defense ministry. This infrastructure will be cut off from the internet and connected to a secret network via encrypted devices, ensuring high data security.

Rand Waldron, Chief Technology Officer of Global Defense Oracle, stated that this technology includes AI's ability to analyze video streams to recognize faces, number plates, or vehicle details.

The value of this agreement was not disclosed by Oracle. This step is in line with Oracle's efforts to expand its presence in Southeast Asia. Previously, Oracle announced an investment plan of more than 6.5 billion US dollars (Rp107.4 trillion) to establish a cloud area in Malaysia in October 2024.

In addition, Oracle has also opened a second cloud area in Singapore to meet demand for rapidly growing cloud computing services in Southeast Asia. This step demonstrates Oracle's commitment to strengthening technology infrastructure in the region.

With this collaboration, it is hoped that Singapore's defense capabilities in utilizing advanced technology will further increase, support their security and operational efficiency.
